If you filled the questionnaire I sent to you earlier this week then THANK YOU – I really appreciate it. 🙂
I’ve very pleased to say that the 3 randomly selected people who have won copies of OptimizePress are:
1. Rob Rowe, 2. Stacy Galiczynski, 3. Andrew Chamberlain
And there’s a bonus winner too: 4. James Reeves
Congratulations if this is you, I have contacted you by email!
Didn’t get lucky? No problem – here’s a video I created which runs through the results of the questionnaire and shows you how you can use questionnaires in your business to gain invaluable marketing insights (please watch to the end for a killer tip ;-)).

Great, I was the bonus winner. Thanks Rob. I’m sure OptimizePress will help me with marketing and writing sales pages. I will definitely make full use of it. Also thanks for showing us about how to set up the questionnaire on Google Drive.
Congratulations James 🙂 Glad the questionnaire tutorials helped too. Good luck with your site and marketing going forward. I hope OP proves to be a real boost for you (it has for me!).
Kind regards, Rob.
Great little clip Rob – now I know about Google Drive and how to set up a questionnaire when I get around to it. Lol. Not motivation lack, just constantly maxed out but all in good time … thank you very much, very appreciated.
Hi Robin,
Great to see you here on the blog. I know what you mean about “maxed out” – me to recently! But glad you found this useful and hope that you’ll put it into practice when you get a little more time (it really doesn’t take much time at all though to be honest!)
Cheers, Rob.
Hi Rob
Very interesting video – it’s answered quite a few of my questions about why questionnaires are useful to marketers.
Thanks Kevin – great to hear that 🙂
Hi Rob and everyone who took part. Great info as usual and congrats to everyone who secured a copy of “Optimize Press”.
Thanks Mike – Appreciate your comment. Rob
Thanks for the information -very informative and presented in a way that was easy to understand.
Hey Rich, Thanks very much – let me know if you have questions going forward 🙂 All the best, Rob.
Thanks Rob, as usual this is useful information that can be used to improve the chances of online success. I will definately be using the survey approach to get information from “the horse’s mouth” so to speak. Who better to tell you all about what, when where, why how etc; about what they would expect or like to see on your website.
Exactly James, you’ve summed it up perfectly. Cheers! Rob.
BIG congrats to the winners!
Is Optimize Press what this site runs on?
Great share, Rob. I was wondering if this was a write-in or a choice of options type of survey? Especially the “what you struggle with question”.
Thanks for going the extra mile to show what you used and how. And the added ideas on where it can be used…never would have thought twitter or my autoresponder.
I’d like to know the mindset you had to create the questions? That could be very eye-opening…and did this just go to your list?
Hi Cheryl, Thanks for your questions and glad you found this useful 🙂
1. Is Optimize Press what this site runs on?
A: No. This site runs on Thesis from DIY Themes. Although OptimizePress is excellent for squeeze pages, sales pages, membership sites, launch funnels etc it is not very good for blogs at all. So I would definitely recommend another type of theme for that. Woothemes have some excellent ones if you search for them. Quick tip if you want to find out what theme a WordPress site is using: Right click > View Source > Search for “themes” and you’ll find the name of the theme in the code. If you do that for this site you’ll see “themes/thesis_18”. So just search Google for “thesis” and you’ll discover more.
2. I was wondering if this was a write-in or a choice of options type of survey?
A: Most of the questions were multiple choice but in the video you’ll see there are also individual responses that people could type out too.
3. I’d like to know the mindset you had to create the questions? That could be very eye-opening…and did this just go to your list?
A: I sat down and though, “What do I REALLY want to know?”. I wanted to learn more about who my subscribers were (hence male/female, job status, etc), what their end goals were, how much they were willing to invest and what format they prefer that training to be in.
4. Did this just go to your list?
A: Yes.
Hope this helps.
Cheers – Rob.
This is really great. So appreciate the time you take to teach us these valuable tools. I love learning here!
My pleasure Deb -thanks for your kind words 🙂
Hi Rob,
Really interesting feedback! What do you make of the age profile? I’m in the ‘majority’ age group myself – are we all seeking extra funds for retirement, or career changes, or (perhaps most frequently) lifestyle changes. Are we all so worn down by the system that we believe there must be a better way out there? As I said – interesting!
Well done to the winners, I’m not jealous – honest 🙂
Hi Graham, Glad you liked the insight! I think those reasons you give are probably correct. Also, people in that age bracket perhaps have more time to spend on projects like internet business, forex, hobbies, fitness and so on as well. It’s all relative though – there still are people in the younger age brackets that get involved too. Maybe some of these are too busy to fill out a survey?! Kind regards, Rob.
Hi Rob,
Thanks for sharing the results. It’s interesting to see that despite the havoc the Google updates have caused to rankings, people are still far more interested in learning about free traffic than paid.
Any chance of making the results available to us in pdf format?
Thanks
Amanda
Hi Amanda, Great to see you here. Not PDF on this I’m afraid but hopefully the video will let you make notes on any important aspects you’d like to consider for your projects going forward. Free traffic is definitely hug but remember SEO is only one of many different “free” traffic methods. Like I said in the video it’s good to see people looking at the other methods rather than just focusing on SEO. Cheers, Rob.
Hey Rob, that is some very valuable info on how to interact with your list, i didn’t think the video was too long, because it was interesting and informative and you speak very clearly.
I love it when any marketer puts out these little snips of information.
Well, i have learnt two things today : 1 how to set up a survey, 2 how to find out what theme a marketer uses as their webpage ( your answer to Cheryl ).
So thank you for that. By the way, i hate Webinars, as far as i’m concerned, they are too long for me and i lose interest. More Power to you.
Awesome Mike! Glad you got some good nuggets from this as well. I always try to share as much as I can. We’re all in this together really so better for me to do that than get market “at you” as is often the case! Cheers for now, Rob.
Thanks rob. One of the most interesting and informative videos I have seen for some time.
Great to hear Nigel – thanks very much for the feedback 🙂
Hi Rob, nice tip I didn’t even know Google had this tool, the best thing is that the questionnaire templates is so basic that it makes it easy for the user.
I have come across several questionaires and they are so long winded and confusing. The other benefit was the stat’s are also visually easy to look at, good job on providing this tool will use it moving forward.
Keep em coming 😉
Imran
Cheers Imran, great to see you here on the blog and I will do 🙂
Hi Rob
Thanks very much for a very interesting and enjoyable video. It was very informative. I hadn’t heard of Google Drive.
I went for Mobile Marketing and Mindset in terms of what I would like to know more about, particularly mobile marketing because although I’ve heard of it, I don’t know anything about it. I’ve had alot of information from you regarding List Building and Affiliate Marketing and really appreciate the importance of these two areas.
It was interesting to note that a survey could be put into a follow-up email.
Many thanks again
Peter
Hi Peter,
Thanks for your feedback, great to hear your thoughts as usual!
Cheers, Rob.
Hi Rob
That really very interesting and fascinating and thought provoking.
You have made it very easy to understand and it is worth a try.
I know there are a lot of people who would be very interested in this piece of software.
However the results are showing to a selected specified audience.
But for me it would be difficult in that it is almost impossible to try unless you have had some people to send it to.
So in the end what is needed is advertising to the people that you do not know which may include solo ads and registering on blog and websites.
This is especially true if you are staring the business with out bothering your relatives and friends unless you know that will pass them on.
I have read what you have written and I still think what you have to say is very valuable and worthwhile and I do actually enjoy your blog.
Hi Richard,
Thanks for your comment and yes you’re right about needing the audience. This is why building a list is so important and something I bang on about so much.
Appreciate your kind words and best wishes for 2013 🙂
Cheers!
Rob.
Hi Rob
Great video had no idea this sort of information was available from Google and. free of charge
Glad you discovered something new Tony and thanks for your comment 🙂
Kind regards,
Rob
